HIFU Facial Treatment

HIFU uses high-energy sound waves to target and lifts sagging skin tissue by delivering heat directly into the deep layers of the skin - without damaging surrounding tissue.

HIFU treatment is painless and safe; there is no injections, needles, downtime or recovery period. HIFU doesn't use any chemicals or foreign substances. HIFU treatments be used alongside other treatments such as Botox, fillers and laser. The ultrasound energy is suitable for most skin types and tones - even darker skin types can benefit from HIFU treatment without risk of damaging or burning the skin.

This nonsurgical skin tightening procedure has been used in Europe for over ten years by plastic surgeons to rejuvenate skin and has an impressive track record of producing long-lasting results without any need for surgery, injections or harsh chemicals.

The HIFU facial treatment gives instant skin tightening by reversing the natural aging process to create jawline definition tightening in the neck area improves sagging skin and skin laxity.

Are you thinking of having a HIFU treatment for your sagging skin but unsure when to expect a result?

High intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) Treatment is a nonsurgical skin tightening procedure facial treatment that uses ultrasound energy to target skin laxity and lifts sagging skin.

The most common question about HIFU treatment is when can I expect to see a result from a HIFU facial treatment?

This noninvasive skin tightening treatment is an alternative to surgical facelifts and is becoming more popular because it works and there's no downtime in comparison with aesthetic plastic surgery, with reduced risk and cost.

High intensity focused ultrasound works by causing an inflammatory trauma to loose skin to create collagen production, leading to firmer lifted skin while reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on the upper layers of your face or other body areas, resulting in overall quality facial rejuvenation.

However, when looking at what to expect after HIFU treatments, three main factors need to be considered before you get too excited about a HIFU skin treatment as an alternative to surgical procedures.

The  three main factors of the HIFU procedure

  1. How MANY HIFU treatments do you need to see a result?
  2. How LONG does it take to see the results?
  3. How long do the results LAST?

There are a few factors to consider when directly answering this question as openly and honestly as possible.

Namely, the quality of your skin texture and your realistic expectations of what a result is?

The straight answer is ONE treatment is required to see and feel firmer skin.

You will feel and see the quality and skin laxity improve after one HIFU Treatment.

However, consistent and repeated treatments will increase skin lifting and jawline definition over time.

The most common treatment protocol would recommend a HIFU treatment every 12 to 16 weeks with a minimum of three treatments per annum to improve tone and firmness.

It's the next question when you will get a different answer depending on the treatment area you want to treat with the HIFU device.

When looking at using focused ultrasound energy, onto the skin's surface you feel an instant skin tightening result because the skin is thinner; a great example of this is around your eye area.

You will see and feel an instant result- so look in the mirror and see a change.

This will continue to improve over the next few weeks.

However, if you have excess skin, and want jawline definition tightening and results similar to a surgical facelift such as HIFU Half face or HIFU Neck Lift treatment option.

The ultrasound energy will be deeper into the layers of the skin and the ultrasound waves penetrate down to the dermis layer of the skin, which will cause slight discomfort and will take longer for the results of fewer wrinkles, and firmer skin longer to be felt.

With the deeper ultrasound waves, there will be an initial feeling of tightness, but the lift takes time.

The deeper micro-energy layers into the dermis contract the smas layer and cause the inflammatory response.

The immune system takes time to react and produce fibroblast, which will harvest collagen and elastin production.

This can take from 3 months to 6 months to come to the surface of the skin.

However, during that period, you will feel a firmness from the mid-layer of collagen and elastin at 4 to 6 weeks, but the structured feeling of a lift takes a little longer than you want to believe.

When looking at HIFU treatment and when to expect a result, depends on your current skin laxity and the quality of your skin health.

The answer to how long the result lasts from one single HIFU face lift treatment in general from between a further 6 to 12 months from once you feel the benefit of the treatment.

All results depend on the quality of your skin health when you have the HIFU treatment and will depend on how long the effects of the treatment will be felt.

So if you plan only to have one HIFU face-lift treatment and your skin health is poor, you will feel the benefit of that treatment, but it will take longer than you expect and won't last as long as you would prefer.

In conclusion, you will feel and see a result from ONE high intensity focused ultrasound treatment, the time it takes depends on the area and depth you want to treat.

In the case of how long will the results last, that makes no difference to the treated area, that depends on the quality of your skin health and any further treatment you have afterwards.

From personal experience, I can tell you that if life takes over and I don't do my HIFU face-lift within 6 months, I definitely know it's time to do a treatment.

Now the natural ageing process continues to take place and my skin is still losing its elasticity, but I do feel as though I am managing my skin laxity.

It's important to clarify that my slow and low approach to your skincare routine is the same as HIFU face treatments and Microneedling treatments.

If you are new to having aesthetic skin treatments, I strongly recommend a minimum of 3 collagen-induction treatments within a 12 week period first before considering a HIFU Treatment.

Starting with a HIFU Full facelift treatment and sitting back waiting for the results is not the best way to improve your skin laxity for firm lifted skin.

HIFU face treatment is the HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound) that can noninvasively destroy fat cells for contouring purposes.

HIFU technology applies deep heat to trigger lipolysis, tissue folds and other adipose tissues.

HIFU treatment for fat removal is a safe, simple and painless procedure that gently melts away fat cells without invasive incisions or surgery.

HIFU facial skin tightening reduces the face circumference as heats fatty tissue by creating spots of thermal energy.

The energy from HIFU can break down the energy stored in the fat cells on your face resulting in a reduced circumference of your face.

High-intensity focused ultrasound [HIFU] is a relatively new aesthetic skin treatment on the high street and is the best non surgical face lift treatment that uses waves of sound to tighten skin and lift sagging or ageing skin.

HIFU encourages collagen production, leading to firmer lifted skin while reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on your face or other body areas.

This non-invasive alternative treatment to surgery is becoming more popular because not only does it work fast, its minimally invasive, unlike going under the knife or cosmetics surgery so there's no downtime in comparison.

However, when looking at the cost of HIFU skin treatments, two main factors must be considered before having a non invasive HIFU treatment.

How much does HIFU treatment cost?

HIFU Face treatment costs depend on two main factors:

  1. The layers of skin the ultrasound energy is required to reach to improve skin laxity
  2. The size of the area you want treating.

As an example, a HIFU Neck Lift treatment will cost more than a HIFU Eye lift treatment.

A skin tightening treatment, similar to radiofrequency uses a single layer of micro-energy will cost less than a neck and jawline lift as this treatment requires 3-layers of micro energy.

How does HIFU Face Treatment work?

A single layer of micro energy is for instant skin tightening and plumping similar to radio frequency and the multi layering of the micro energy penetrates deeper into layers of the skin to reach down past the dermis layer to the smas layer to a pinpoint which will lift the skin and create the longer-lasting lift and firmness.

Price of HIFU Face Treatment

When calculating the cost of a HIFU Treatment, the cost of the different depth cartridges are the same, the number of shots from each cartridge has the same, the cost to the clinic owner of the device to deliver the energy is the same.

Further, the skin products used to remove the gel and treat the skin will be the same regardless of the depth or surface area to be treated.

The variable in the HIFU treatment cost is calculated based on the number of shots required to produce different desired outcomes and the time it takes to complete the treatments.

In summary, the cost of HIFU face treatment will vary depending on how deep and the layering of the energy you need for the desired result.

If you want skin tightening it will be a single layer of micro energy, but if you want to lift your skin this requires 3 layers of micro energy to create the structure, tone and firmness.

The more energy required, the higher your shot count will be and therefore the higher the cost of HIFU treatment.

For example, for a non-surgical eye lift treatment, to smooth the skin texture, reduce fine lines and wrinkles around the eye area and lift the brow, this is a very delicate area, and the skin is thinner than your jawline, so there will only require a single layer of the micro-ultrasound energy.

A half-face jawline treatment, which needs more layers of energy to lift sagging skin, will cost more per treatment in any skin clinic.

The deepest layer focuses down to the smas layer of skin, the next layer stimulates collagen production plumping and targets the hypodermis layer, then to complete the treatment, a top layer of energy is required in the epidermis to tighten and firm the skin.

The next factor is the size of the area you want to treat.

How many shots are required for HIFU Treatment?

For the HIFU face-lift treatment, commonly, the focus is under the chin and up the jawline, or it might be the entire neck area that concerns you the most.

So as an example, individually, these areas require 3 layers of energy and would use approx. 500-600 shots in total to produce the skin lift and new collagen.

HIFU eye lift is a smaller focus area and can only take a single layer of energy due to the delicate nerves and fat pad tissue. So this would commonly only take 300 shots and would have less recovery time.

Alternatively, you have all those areas done in one single treatment, and this you create a shot count of up to 1200 shots

In Conclusion

The non surgical facelift HIFU treatment cost depends on the depth of the energy and the size of the area you want to treat. Small areas such as eyes, just under chin or forehead would cost less than a jawline and cheeks [medium area]. So if you want you under the chin, jawline, cheeks, and eyes, that will be a large area and will cost you more.

The results from the non surgical HIFU face treatment will take time to be felt, approx 12 weeks for the lift as the energy is penetrated deep into the layers of the skin, where as the skin tightening treatment which is ideal for fine lines, wrinkles and crow's feet around the eyes and is a fantastic alternative to invasive cosmetic surgical procedure such as dermal fillers as this treatment is non invasive and there is no downtime, with long lasting results compared botox and filler.

The results can be felt after just one treatment and are long-lasting up to six months, depending on the quality of your skin laxity and collagen levels.

How long do the results LAST?

Any HIFU face treatment results will last as long as the natural ageing process takes for YOUR skin to age.

Depending on the quality of your skin health, age, and skin treatments you have in between will all impact how long the results from a HIFU treatment will last.

It's all due to the time it takes for your body to break down the collagen created. I am sorry that it is a bit of a politician's answer; it is the best way to explain what happens honestly.

If you are under 30 and have mild to moderate skin laxity your collagen does not break down as quickly as it does when you are over 50 or 60 years old.

As we age, our collagen breakdowns at 1% per year and starts to gather speed if it does not have all the ingredients and stimulation it needs to keep regenerating.

But take a moment to think about a 50-year-old whose skin health is good, they are hydrated, have a good diet, don't smoke, don't go outdoors in the sun unprotected, and has regular aesthetic skin treatments?

How quickly is her collagen going to decrease?

Probably about the same speed as the 30 year old!

Therefore, the results from a HIFU treatment will depend on the depth of the skin treatment and your skin health.

How does HIFU Work?

The micro-energy in High Intensity Focused Ultrasound [HIFU] improves skin tone by using focused energy to penetrate to varying depths and destroy subcutaneous fatty tissue.

That skin tissue reacts to the heat (up to 75 degrees) and generates an instant and natural inflammatory response, naturally disposing of stored energy from the fat cells and metabolising it as energy.

New collagen and elastin are produced, which instantly tightens the skin and provides long-term effects. The HIFU facial treatment pros are that there are no negative side effects and work with your own body's natural processes, unlike a surgical face lift.

HIFU Face Treatment

How long does a HIFU last?

As the natural aging process takes hold a noninvasive skin tightening HIFU treatment can be used to target various treatment areas of either loose skin or lack of skin elasticity but overall each HIFU treatment will create healthy tissue that will provide a skin lifting and a more youthful appearance.

Some people see an immediate effect, and others notice results between 2-12 weeks - it all depends on your skin condition, your hydration levels, and your nutrition.

The effects will last as long as it takes for you to naturally age, so the younger the skin the longer the results will last. Each HIFU device will vary and it is recommended to have repeated procedures on the same treatment area for facial lifting to last.

However, in general, one HIFU procedure will give facial rejuvenation for up to six months.

HIFU Face Treatment FAQs

What is a HIFU Treatment?

HIFU stands for High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound. It is an advanced cosmetic technology that can significantly tighten and lift several areas of the face.

The main outcomes of a HIFU facelift treatment are to reduce the signs of ageing and improve the tone of the skin in a single session, with potentially long-lasting effects.

HIFU face lift treatment is also known as a non-surgical facelift, will lift, tighten and tone your skin.

You can choose to have different areas treated or have an all in one face lift treatment.

Does hifu face work?

HIFU [High Intensity Focused Ultrasound] skin treatment is an excellent non-surgical treatment for tightening the face, neck, and jawline skin to give a natural 'facelift' effect.

HIFU lifts and improves skin tone and is one of the most effective, non-invasive pro-ageing treatments there is. It's a fantastic alternative to surgery, wrinkle relaxing injections and fillers.

The results are slow and effective, the only variable if HIFU works is the quality of the skin. The more hydrated the skin tone the better the results.

How long do HIFU results last?

HIFU treatments will last for as long as it takes for your skin to naturally age. Approx 12 to 18 months post treatment.

Once you have a HIFU treatment the results will continue to develop and you will feel a firmness for at 18 months.

Your skin won't start to sag or look worse than it did before your HIFU facelift, but you may be more conscious of it because you'll have become used to seeing firmer, younger looking skin!

How often do you have HIFU?

To get long-lasting results, the advice is a minimum of two HIFU treatments in the first year spaced six months apart. You can then get a minimum of one treatment a year afterwards to maintain the results of the treatment.

It can depend on the area and quality of the skin. For the very best results on an eye lift, I would recommend more treatments, within a 12 month period, as the skin is thinner and will lift and tightening much easier than say your jawline.

You can have a HIFU face lift treatment every 12 weeks for optimum results. But I would recommend this treatment is within a skin protocol to achieve an outcome and then maintain it.
